            - 6th graders served at the Fishes and Loaves Soup Kitchen--October
- 6th graders built bicycles for children through Elves and More Bicycles at Reliant Stadium--December.
            - Haiti Collection Drive--$911.05 donated to the Red Cross--February
            - Hope for Haiti Carwash--$1576.40 donated to UNICEF—February
- The Windsong Walk for Diabetes in April 2009 raised $4,432.

Continental Math League and National Language Arts League Recognitions

Mars Rover Competition
From 2004-2009, Windsong earned multiple 1st, 2nd, 3rd 4th, and 5th place awards in the Free Form Division for the University of Houston Mars Rover Competition. In 2009 they had 9 teams participating.

Odyssey of the Mind Competition
Since 2000, Windsong students have earned multiple 1st, 2nd, 3rd places, A Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award and an OMER Award. Teams have also placed and participated in State and World competitions.

Rodeo Art Competition
Since Windsong was built in 1998, it has repeatedly won recognition in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Competition. Many students have won place ribbons and been considered for Best of Show. In 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007, students also won Gold Medals and Best of Show.

TCEA Robotics Competition
- From 2000 to 2005, Windsong teams earned 3 first, second, and third places at the Texas Computer Education Association conventions in Austin.
- In 2007-2008, Windsong teams placed in the Top 6 in the Area Competition and received 4th place in State.
- In 2008-2009, they earned 2nd and 3rd Place in Area and 3rd Place in State.
- In 2009-2010, Windsong earned 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Places in Area and 4th, 7th, and 9th Places in State Competition. Over 40 teams participated in State Competition in May.
