Poetry Alive! Super poetry students from Bales
came to share their talent with Westwood students. The student
audience never knew poetry could be so much fun or become so
alive! What a great and beneficial down-the-sidewalk partnership
to have with the two schools! |
Fourth graders at
Bales are learning about animal adaptations. By acting as lanternfishes,
students learn how bioluminescence and schooling behavior help
fishes survive.

- Live on stage! It's the All Star
Authors! Hear the stories written by students in Inga Cain's
Language Classes. On alternating Fridays, students are in the
spotlight as they read their own original work! Stories, poems
and essays will all be on the agenda as the year progresses.

| Mr. Holtvluwer's
4th Grade students put on their antlers and simulated elk migrating.
Students learned that migration is a behavioral instinct that
animals do in order to meet their basic needs such as food, water,
and the right climate. |

Pumpkin Booklets are the assignment in Nancy
Van Hal's classes. Students are measuring and weighing pumpkins.
The assignment consists of class data - range, mean, median,
mode for weight, cost circumference. Graphs - Ba/Pie. |
- Fourth Graders in Chantell Edmond
and Inga Cain's classes observed the 55th day of school with
a 50s celebration. Music from the Fabulous Fifties, along with
poodle skirts, bobby socks, and rolled up jeans, were the order
of the day.
