Friendswood Junior High School has an enrollment of 996 students in grades 7-8. The campus is a TEA Exemplary campus. The historical building which currently houses most of the 7th grade classrooms, was built in 1939 as the original K-12 Friendswood School. About once every 15 years since then, the campus has been enlarged by one new classroom building. Presently, the school site has a mix that includes the historical building, the main building, the round building, and the new building.

For high school credit, Friendswood Junior High offers four foreign languages, world geography, algebra, geometry, and introduction to construction trades. Additionally the campus offers a rich variety of electives for students to take, such as: band, choir, art, computer animation, computer assisted design, film and video, competitive speech, musical production and theatre. The FJH athletic teams include football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and track. Our teams consistently place in zone and district finals each year. Our band and choir programs actively compete at local and state levels. Furthermore, we have an enormously successful 'no cut' cheerleading squad and our Odyssey of the Mind teams compete at regional and world competitions.
