News: FHS Best Buddies hosts balloon paint booth in Walk of Friendship event
posted: April 26, 2010

Friendswood High School Best Buddies Club participated in the recent Walk of Friendship for Best Buddies.
The Houston area sponsors a Walk of Friendship annually.  Each school in the area is invited to attend.  They each sponsor an activity booth.
Friendswood students did the balloon paint booth.
Each school and participant is encouraged to raise money for Best Buddies. FHS raised more than $1700, lead by Lauren Powell and Lauren Ondreko.

The girls held a garage sale, contacted friends and family members, and donated themselves to earn this money.  Because they earned so much, FHS was admitted into the Walk free of charge and Best Buddies gave us back $100 for annual dues.
Lauren Ondreko is the chapter President and Lauren Powell is the chapter secretary.
The FHS chapter has over 60 members.  Advisors are Jann Davies, Amber Smith, and Pat Torrafranca.
Best Buddies was founded 1898 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver.  It is the world's largest non-profit organization that pairs students with disabilities with students without a disability.
