News: Mascot for FHS to be summer coach
posted: April 16, 2010

FHS Senior Katy Blanchard is the first mascot in four years to be offered a summer job because of her spirited expertise.
She has been accepted to the National Cheer Association staff for the summer. This NCA position has not been offered for four years to a mascot.
Blanchard also changed history for attending the National Cheerleaders Association Cheer Camp in Galveston with the FHS Cheer Squad last summer.

At the end of the camp two girls from Friendswood were given the Honor of being presented with Applications to Join the NCA Staff this next summer.  Blanchard was one of those people.
The National Cheer Association is the most elite Cheerleading Association in the country.
Katy sent in a video application along with a separate video of a skit that she had prepared with the cheerleaders.
At the NCA summer camp, Blanchard will be a NCA Mascot Coach.
“We are so proud of her and can't believe how she has brought Mighty the Mascot to life,” mom and Engraphics owner Barbara Blanchard said
