The Friendswood High School Academic Octathlon did a great job last weekend at their regional meet. 
        The team competed against 4A and 5A schools and came in fifth place.
        “Many of the teams our students faced have a year long class devoted to the competition and still we came in an amazing 5th place overall,” FHS Sponsor Leslie Berryhill said.

        A number of FHS students collected individual medals.
        Bryan Holcomb was awarded the bronze medal in music.
        David Snowden was presented the gold medal in Super Quiz, gold in Language and Literature, gold in Economics, silver in Science, silver in Art, and first place overall in the Varsity division.
        Vanessa Saldana received the bronze medal in Super Quiz. 
        The FHS team also placed second in the Team Super Quiz competition.
        Team members included Bryan Holcomb, Sarah Meyer, Doug Coppock, Catherine Macias, Vanessa Saldana, Nathan Hobley, David Snowden, Kelsey Thomas, Kimberly Hall, Stephen Hahn, and Hayley Boswell.
