News: Reservations for gala tables have begun
posted: December 7, 2009

Half of the room is full in the upcoming Luv Ya Blue Gala set for February 13 at the Hotel ZaZa in Houston. Sponsored by the Friendswood ISD Education Foundation, the Valentine gala is set for 400 with 40 tables. More than half have been reserved and the invitations will not go out until January 4.

Six Distinguished Alumni will be honored as well as dinner and dancing will take place in the eclectic new hotel in a location very familiar to those who live in the Houston area. The former Warwick now offers a trendy new edge for entertaining as well as dining and staying the evening. High interest in venue is part of this year’s event.
The six being honored include Patrick Buzzard of NASA in Moscow, Soviet Union; Mark Griffon, FHS principal;  Glenda McDonald, hospital chaplain; Chris Norton, former oil career given up for the seminary in the Methodist Church, Dannielle Thomas, an agent for stars in Los Angeles; and Honorary Alumnus Dr. Richard Conway.
A website on the www.fisdk12.net website offers info on the Education Foundation as well as a hint on what’s in store in the live and silent auctions.
An email address luvyablue@fisdk12.net offers a place to order tickets and book tables.
Tables seat 10 and table prices are $1,000 per table. Tickets to the gala are $100 each. Chairing the event are CiCi Newkirk and Lesley Dibello.
Money earned will benefit FISD through the Education Foundation.
