News: Wranglerette officers win awards at camp

           The Friendswood High School Wranglerette Dance Team’s Officers excelled at the Crowd Pleasers Officer Camp held at the Downtown Houston Hyatt Regency June10-13.
            The officer camp focuses on sharpening skills in leadership, choreography, dance technique and team building.
            Out of 63 dance officer squads, the Wranglerette Dance officers were voted Most Admired on the second day of camp. For their home routine, they received a Superior Performance Trophy, Outstanding Performance Award, Outstanding Choreography and Outstanding Technique Award.

           The Dance Officers qualified in the Elite Gold designation and were in the Top Ten Elite Performance Circle for being among the top ten scoring schools at camp.
           The Dance Officers were voted Most Friendly by the other teams in attendance. Several of the Wranglerette Dance Officers were named as Superstar Dancer Finalists. They were Katie Boone, Bianca Buentello, Elizabeth Cotter and Lexie Everett. Bianca Buentello and Lexie Everett were named Superstar Dancers.
           Out of 32 social officer squads, the Wranglerette Social Officers were voted Most Admired Social Officer Group for the first day of camp. The Social Officers received the Outstanding Overall Achievement Trophy, Most Creative Award and Most Spirited Award. They were tied with one other school in being voted Most Admired Overall by the other teams in attendance.
           The Wranglerettes are under the direction of Kara Baker and assistant director Ashley Caterina.
