The Bay Area Women’s Chorus and the Bay Area Mixed Chorus present Voices of Poets & Playwrights, highlighting the powerful wedding of text and music which occurs when inventive writers and skilled composers join forces.  Settings by Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, Walt Whitman and James Agee are included.  The event will take place April 25 at 4 pm at the Friendswood United Methodist Church and May 2 at 4 pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

           BAC soloists and small groups will pay homage to Broadway lyricists and composers with performances of favorites from Wicked, The Wiz and Wizard of Oz.
            Guests performing at the FUMC April 25 include two Choir members from Friendswood High School, the BAC Priscilla Ennis High School Vocal Scholarship Winner Elizabeth Conger and BAC Elizabeth Dennard High School Vocal Scholarship Winner Catherine Goode. The girls will be performing solos as part of the Poets section of the concert.
            Tickets are $10 in advance with prices at $15 at the door for Adults and $12 for students and seniors ages 65 and over. Group rates are also available.
