In Science, the Friendswood team, consisting of Brandon Taylor, Brandon Chao, Taylor Farrington, Bryan Nguyen, Vanessa Rivera and Melissa Glasgow, took first place at the UIL Science district competition. They also won most of the individual awards:

In Team Current Events, the group won second place. Team members include Lindsay Ricker, Heather Cummings, David Gillespie, Dino Georgeton, and Lindsay Ricker advanced to regionals as the second place individuals. In Computer Science, the team swept the written part and won the programming part by 120 points. They had the highest accumulative scores of both the written and hands-on event to earn first place team by beating second place Pearland Dawson by 285 points.
