        Athletic Signings

Senior Academy Appointments
A reception honoring these students was held in the new library at FHS.
James G. received an appointment to the Air Force Academy from Lt. Col. Gary Morgan Jr. Gregory was joined by his parents Joe and Melanie and FHS Principal Mark Griffon. Alex L. received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point from Virgil Cox, who serves as an admission field representative. Alex was joined by his parents Ronald and Gail. Christopher S. received an appointment to the Air Force Academy from Lt. Col. Gary Morgan Jr. Shannon was joined by his parents John and Yvette.
Senior Athletic Signings
Kelly S. has signed a letter of intent to play softball for Southern Mississippi University. She was joined at the signing by her parents Robert and Debbie, UH Pitching Coach Carla Buik, and FHS Coaches Kassandra Pustejovsky, Kevin Parr and David McTeel. Twins Cindy and Mindy T. both signed letters of intent to play tennis for the University of Texas-Dallas campus. At the signing, they were joined by Tennis Coach David Cook, FHS Principal Mark Griffon, and Athletic Director Steve VanMeter. Mark G. signed a letter of intent to play basketball at McMurray University. At the signing he was joined by his parents Mark and Belen, FHS Principal Mark Griffon, Basketball Coach Daron Chandler, and Athletic Director Steve VanMeter.
Lauren L., signed a letter of intent to swim for the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. Joining her at the signing are her mother, Lisa, Swim Coach John Little, FHS Principal Mark Griffon, and Athletic Director Steve VanMeter. Matt K. was awarded the Fighting Mustang Athlete Award by Athletic Director Steve VanMeter. The award is given to an outstanding athlete who performed well in two or more sports. Kennemer was exemplary in football and baseball. He was joined by Athletic Director Steve VanMeter, his parents, Kem and Bryan and FHS Principal Mark Griffon. Annalisa H. was awarded the Dr. Myrlene Kennedy Award for Female Athlete of the Year. Hall played soccer and basketball and plans to attend Oklahoma State. She was awarded the honor by Athletic Director Steve VanMeter and FHS Principal Mark Griffon.
 
Brandon S. has signed a letter of intent to run track at Iowa State University. Swindler was joined at the signing by his parents Lee and Karen and Track Coach Steven Haffelder. Swimmer Melissa W. has signed a letter of intent to swim for Liberty University in Lynchberg, Virginia. Watson was joined at the signing by her parents, Michael and Linda, Swim Coach John Little, Athletic Director Steve VanMeter and FHS Principal Mark Griffon. Daniel M. has signed a letter of intent to play lacrosse for Florida Southern University. At the signing, he was joined by his parents James and Karen and Lacrosse Coach Steven Kirk.
