On April 19, 2011, the Friendswood High School Baseball Field will no longer exist, in name that is. On that night, when the Mustangs play the final game in district play against the Santa Fe Indians, the field will be dedicated to a coach who put many hours into the sport at that location.
            At 6:30 pm, the field will be dedicated and renamed to Bobby Black Field.
            The public is invited to join Black, his family, current baseball players and former players and their parents when Superintendent Trish Hanks shares Black’s many accomplishments, FHS Principal Mark Griffon introduces Coach Black, and Athletic Director Steve Van Meter announces the new name.
