Mustang Band members earned honors at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 17 band auditions held at Alvin High School recently. From this audition, students were selected to go to the Area audition in January to audition for the All-State Band. 
           The students auditioned over music that was learned essentially on their own during marching season.
           The Mustang Band placed 77 students in All-District Band and of those, 57 also earned All-Region Honors. Out of those 57, 33 earned All-Area Honors and will tryout for the All-State Band. We also had 9 students who qualified to perform with the All-Region Orchestra.
           Earning All-District Honors were Julia Robinson, Scott Morse, Taylor Williams, Jennifer Twyford, Zach Gallagher, Josh Gates, Jillian Strickland, Aaron Hollaway, Kyle Beaman, Dino Georgeton, Jonathan Munoz, Danielle Gruber, Kyle Wiley, Ian Faulk, Rikki Patrick, Kelsey Long,Stephen Hahn, Hayden Faust, Meghan Vickery, Yaneli Rubio and Megan Glanville.
           Earning All-District and All-Region Honors were Traci Bordelon, Kelsey Faust, Veronica Heintz, Natalie Merino, Julianna Strickland, Haley Long, Michael Hsu, Alli Rubenak, Alison Carlin, Brian Meyer, Morgan Mihovil, Matt McVey, David Zurawski, Rachael Goeken, David Bordelon, MilesRobinson, Amy Le, Taylor Farrington, Darian Larsen, Blake Hees, Michael Gregory, Daniel Bradley, Rachel Langdon, and Lauren Patterson.
           Earning All-District, All-Region, and All-Area Honors which means they audition in January for the All-State Band are Brandon Chao (1stchair Alto Sax), Samantha Genzer (1st chair Contra-Clarinet), Laura Bradley, Brandon Goddard, Garrett Bynum, Katie Barton, Jon Bertelsmen, Chelsea Lott, Zach Coccetti, Liz Harris, Kaitlyn Gruener, Shelby Stephens, Zach Zimmerman,Brenna Patrick, Ben Clements, Chelsea Coleman, Kate Zurawski, Melodie Larsen, James Antal, Daniel Du, Jonah Strickland, Emily Irby, Jacob Gruener, Matt Mihovil (1st chair Baritone Sax), Payton Guerrettaz (1stchair Clarinet),  Nathan Coronado(1st chair Euphonium), Josh Smith (1st Chair tuba), Jason Konet, Emily Sharp, Blake Disiere, Bryan McCullough, and Erik Honore.
