Success was the name of the game at the Friendswood High School Science Fair held recently on campus. Under the direction of Dawne Welch and Rebecca Clark, the fair also offered students’ mentoring by teacher Theresa Lawrence.
In the category of Animal Science, Gabriella Quintana won first place. In Behavioral/Social Sciences, Briahna Yarberry placed first with Shannon Ellis in second place.
Mathew Laitkep placed first in Chemistry. In Computer Sciences, Roma Pradhan won first place with Joe Rogers in second.
Five places were won in Energy & Transportation category. Sheena Mohebalian and Laura Bradley tied for first place with Steven Auzenne in second, Michael Laitkey in third and Daniel Bradley in fourth place.
Five places were also given in Engineering. Asgari-Tari Nader was presented first place, Alexandra Wilson second, Blake Crawford third, Benjamin Burdick in fourth and David Bordelon with fifth place.
In Environmental Science, Madeline Landon was in first place with Caroline Landon in second place, Traci Bordelon in third, Julia Conger in fourth, and Janae Bonnen in fifth place.
Ariana Rivera received first place in Medicine/Health with Karmina Martinez in second place. Ryan Bynum was first place in Microbiology.
In Physics, Jamie McCullough won first place with Derek Janak in second, John Coates tied for third place with Jasmine Li, Rachel Goeken received fourth place and Chandika Silva received fifth place.
Jamie McCullough was awarded first place in 8th Grade Overall at the science fair. Benjamin Burdick received second place.
In the Senior Biological Sciences Division, Madeline Landon received first place and Gabriella Quintana in second.
In the Senior Physical Sciences Division, Sheena Mohebalian was named first place with Laura Bradley in second.
