Corey Hayford, from the Friendswood High School golf team, had a productive two weeks competing on the golf course. 
    He earned an individual first place at the Sugar Creek Invitational Jan 7-8 by shooting a final round 69 for a two day total of even par. 
    He also won a two day event at Augusta Pines Golf club in Spring Jan 17-18 with a 73, 68. 
    The second day inlcuded an eagle on 11th hole.  He won the tournament by two strokes to beat out individual contenders from St. Thomas and Klein Oaks High schools.  
    The high school golf team continues to improve as they prepare for district competition in April.
