High school. junior high and elementary artists in FISD won awards at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show School Art Competition held recently at the Clear Lake Arts Alliance Center in the Clear Lake area by NASA.
Two FHS artists were winners. Best of Show was given to Brooke Bartholomew with her Wandering Mustangs and Gold Medals were presented to Tory Trebig for her fish eye Mixed Media piece called Arnis and to Lindsay Barckholtz for her pencil drawing of a horse titled Before the Storm.
Two winners were from Friendswood Junior High. Best of Show was awarded to Blake Davis for his Rooster and a Gold Medal was given to Molly Chen for her art piece called Over the Meadow Through the Back Country.
Elementary winners are Kathy Schultz for her art piece called Wild and Free and a Gold Medal went to Madelynn Franzino art piece called Looking on the Other Side.
All of these winning pieces will be on exhibit at the Reliant Center for the duration of the Houston Rodeo.
The remaining rodeo artwork from FISD and from the Clear Creek District will be exhibited at the Art Alliance for the next two weeks, is free and open to the public.
The reception for the Elementary and Secondary level took place January.
