News: FJH Choirs host, place at TMEA Region XVII auditions

         The FJH Choirs had 17 place in an event they hosted.  The Texas Music Education Association (TMEA) Region XVII JH/MS Choir Auditions were held recently at the new Friendswood Junior High Campus off Tom Manison Parkway in Centennial Park. 
         Melissa Smith, director of the FJH Choirs and TMEA Region XVII JH/MS Vocal Chair, served as Contest Coordinator and Host. 
         From the FJH Choirs, 40 singers competed in Region Auditions, and 17 placed into the Region Mixed or Treble Choir. Those that placed include the following:
         In Soprano 1, Skylar McHenry, 1st Chair Treble; Nattie Wroblewski, 1st Chair Treble; Rachel Jensen, 9th Chair Treble; and Esther Segrera, 10th Chair Treble.
         In Soprano 2,  helby Allison, 2nd Chair Mixed; Elisa Rodriguez, 7th Chair Mixed; Brie Sharp, 2nd Chair Treble; and  Mackenzie Henderson, 5th Chair Treble.
         In Alto, Lucinda Culver, 4th Chair Mixed; Jana Landers, 11th Chair Mixed; Olivia Stran, 14th Chair Mixed; Alaina Schoppa, 3rd Chair Treble; Annica Marcuccio, 8th Chair Treble; and Caylee Doiron, 10th Chair Treble.
         In Tenor, Blake Higgs, 15th Chair Mixed.           
         In Bass, Jordan Gates, 11th Chair Mixed;  and J.T. Franzino, 26th Chair Mixed.
         Smith would like to especially recognize and thank the great team of students and parents that helped prepare our school for this contest. Smith also extends her congratulations to these talented singers, who will participate in the Region Clinic and Concert on Saturday, November 6 at Abundant Life Christian Center in LaMarque. 
         “Thanks again to all who were involved in this successful contest at Friendswood Junior High,” Smith said.
