News: Wranglerettes Officers win camp awards
posted: August 2, 2011

The Friendswood High School Wranglerette’s dance and social officers were already hard at work this summer winning many awards at the Crowd Pleasers Officer Camp held at the Downtown Houston Hyatt Regency June 8-12.
The officer camp focuses on sharpening skills in leadership, choreography, dance technique and team building. For their home routine, the dance officers won a Superior Trophy, Outstanding Performance Award, Outstanding Technique Award and Outstanding Choreography Award.
Based on their overall evaluation scores, they qualified for the Elite Gold Officer Group designation. They were in the top ten officer group for overall evaluations scores, placing third overall.
All four of the dance officers were named as finalists in the Super Star Dancer competition. They were Alyssa Waller, Emily Cain, Kayla Petersen and Kayla Cox. Alyssa Waller and Kayla Petersen were named Super Star Dancers.
The social officers were awarded the Overall Achievement Trophy, Most Outstanding and Most Creative Award. They were one of only three officer groups earning the “Award of Excellence”. They were also voted as the Most Friendliest and on the first day of camp they were voted as Most Admired social officer group by the other teams in attendance.
The Wranglerettes are under the direction of Kara Baker and Assistant Director Ashley Caterina.
