News: FHS AD team earns many individual awards at Regional competition

           FHS Academic Decathlon teams received first place for 16 years of competition (from 1993-2008). They have placed in the top three since then. They were second last year at State.  They will compete at State competition in San Antonio later this month.
           The group won Regional competition for Middle School while Pearland High School won in Large School category. The competition was held at FHS Jan. 21.
           The FHS team also received many individual honors.
           As far as individual honors at the Regional Competition:
           Corey Smith (senior) - 1st Art, 1st Language and Literature, 1st Music, 1st Economics (perfect score), 2nd Science, 3rd Math, 1st Speech
           Brandon Goddard (senior) -  2nd Art, 3rd Language and Literature, 3rd Music, 2nd Economics, 1st Science, 2nd Math, 3rd Interview, 1st Essay
           Bryan Holcomb (junior) - 3rd Art, 2nd Language and Literature, 2nd Music, 3rd Economics, 1st Math, 2nd Interview, 3rd Speech
