News: FHS cheerleaders compete, win at Cheer America, NCA Nationals
posted: February 7, 2012

All Friendswood High School cheerleaders won first place in the Novice and Intermediate divisions  at Cheer America National competition held at Reliant Park recently.
The groups won the National Title for those divisions.
“Our squads competed against high school squads from all over Texas and clearly stood out as the best in their divisions,” sponsor Kerri Yee said.
The squads competed for the first time at the 32nd National Cheerleading Association (NCA) Senior and Junior High Championship in January at the Dallas Convention Center. Yee took three teams and combined them into two based on skill level.  FHS was represented by a large novice team of 23 girls and a medium intermediate team of 17 girls.
Both placed in the top 10 in their divisions.
“They competed against the best teams from 26 states. I am so proud of them for doing so well our first time going to this competition,” Yee said.
The results and videos of the FHS cheerleaders competing can be seen at the NCA.com website. Video can be seen at
