News: Toys for children battling cancer become holiday projects
posted: November 29, 2011

Two FHS girls have begun a project that will impact 500+ young people a week who are battling cancer. It is toy/present box that will be used at Texas Children’s Cancer Clinic.
Shannon Ellis and Harley Kelly are collecting toys and teen selected items that will be given to children after each chemo treatment, shot, infusion or radiation at the clinic.
This toy drive is part of the B.I.G. Love Cancer Care project, started by parents after their five year-old daughter died of cancer five years ago. B.I.G. are her initials.
Inexpensive toys, teen items such as iTunes cards and nail polish and other items youth enjoy will be collected now through December 9 and then delivered to the clinic where they will be used immediately.
In FISD, FHS, the Administration Building, the annex (former Junior High) and Transportation are collecting the items for Ellis and Kelly.
On Saturday, December 3, items will be collected at Sno Beach at 600 S. Friendswood Dr. from 11 am to 2 pm. Toys and cash donations will be accepted.
No balloons, bubbles or hair bows are accepted for the boxes.
