Friendswood High School’s Mighty Mustang Band will host their second annual marching band competition on Saturday, October 1, at the school’s Henry Winston Stadium.
This year’s competition has expanded to 18 high school marching bands, all eager to showcase their best performances at Saturday’s event.
“The Friendswood Marching Band Festival has grown to its capacity this year. Our expert panel of judges makes this one of the finest contests around,” Greg Dick, Director of Bands, said. “Our festival will feature many of the finest high school marching bands in the state.”
The competing bands are Clear Falls, Jersey Village, Westside, Brazosport, Woodlands College Park, Clear Springs, Cypress Falls, Clear Creek, Dickinson, Pasadena Memorial, Dawson, Clear Brook, Manvel, Alvin, Morton Ranch, Seven Lakes, Clements and Dripping Springs, in order of performance.
Gates open at 10:30 a.m. with preliminary performances beginning at 11:45 a.m. and finals competition at 6:30 p.m. The Mighty Mustang Band will perform in exhibition at 9:15 p.m.
The public is invited to attend. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children, six years and under free.
