News: FHS Student Council needs your help
posted: September 7, 2011

Hey Friendswood, the FHS student council needs your help in a state project that has just begun but will not last long. The people of Bastrop need our help. Over 500 homes and 25,000 acres have burned up in wild fires over the weekend. The principal of Bastrop High School, at least 10 of their teachers, and many of their students have lost everything. They are in dire need of clothing and essential items. The state Student Council organization, TASC has requested that we collect any clothing or shoes that you no longer want and bring to the student council advisor workshop this weekend that Mrs. Peter will attend. She will leave on Friday afternoon, 9/9/11, so we don't have much time to collect donated items. They are also requesting $25 gift cards to WalMart, but have shared an address that those can continue to be mailed to, so if you can get them by this Friday terrific, but we will continue to collect those and mail them as well. If you are in our community but not at the high school you can drop them off at the high school in care of Laura Peter, and I will package them up and mail them to the appropriate person in Bastrop.

Thank you for any help you can give!
