Driving a new car is not only a fun way to spend a few minutes but now it has become a fundraiser. The Friendswood High School tennis team is partnering with Bayway Lincoln on the Gulf Freeway. The event is sponsored by Lincoln and Bayway is the participating local dealer.
            On Oct. 8, from 10 am to 2 pm, Bayway will have 10 Lincoln car models on the FHS campus and will offer test drives.
            For every test drive, Lincoln will donate $20 to the FHS Tennis program, up to $6,000.
            “Since we were one of the first 25 programs to respond we have the additional option of creating a video of the event. If the video is selected by Lincoln they will double our money up to a potential $12,000,” Coach Andi Morman said. Morman’s assistant coach is Nicole Erfurdt.
            In addition to the test drive opportunity, FHS tennis players will be offering car washes for donations.
                  Tennis Team Varsity Boys members include Bryan Scott, Christian Plaing, Conner Callaway, Jackson Milton, Joe Le, Justin Vu, Kent Tollette, Lee Sundstrom, Matt Kibikas, Parker Edwards and Tyler White.
                  Girls Varsity include Alex Henderson, Allison Goldston, Ariana Randal, Brittany Vu, Emily Goldston, Hannah Brown, JoAnn Karam, Kaitlyn Vu, Kate Willis, LB Labra, Sarah Cragin, and Sarah Westphal.
                  JV Boys include Christian Gamero, Daniel Horn, Drew Faxel, James Kilborn, Joe Cocetti, Josh Aguirre, Josh Garza, Justin Bizarro, Michael Presley, Nick Strope, Ricky Crespo, Sean Nguyen, Stuart Davis, Tyler McKim and Vincent Bui.
                  JV Girls include Amy Thornton, Annabelle Chambers, Ashley Bridges, Brooke Regian, Fatima Khanani-Moosa, Kimberly Luu, Kristen Purdum, Lacy Lowery, Lily Vo, Lindsey Davenport, Paige Chisholm, Raegan Cavender, Sneha Krishan, and Sydney Manning.
                  Freshman Boys include Aditya Mohile, Adrian Falco, Bryce Giles, Chris Perry, Christian VanPelt, Chris Johnston, Cooper Dixon, Jacob Gardiner, Jordan Desbrow, Josh Lambert, Karan Jerath, and Kishan Paten.
            Girls on the freshman team include Jenna Moncrief, Katherine Harclerode, Maddy Appling, Monica Machuca, Sophia Venturini, Sowmilka Boppana, Stephanie Kuo, Sydney Chase and Yumna Khan.
