students in Theresa Lawrence's science classes recently were able to
collect lab data in a sophisticated manner that more closely represents
the equipment and methods they will encounter in higher education
and today's industry. They are part of the first FHS students who

Westwood Elementary honored in Washington, D.C.
Named a National School of Character (NSOC) Finalist
in the spring of 2008, Westwood Elementary sent two representatives to
Washington, DC on Homecoming weekend to accept the award on behalf of

Mobile Science Lab visits 2 campuses
The National Science
Center came to both Friendswood Junior High and Bales Intermediate with
an 18-wheeler fully loaded with an interactive science demonstration
room. All Bales students and 7th grade science students at FJH were filtered through this 18-wheeler.

FJH wins at first drama festival
Drama students at Friendswood Junior High brought home many honors following their first Drama Festival participation for the year. On October 18, FJH competed at Manvel High School Drama Festival. FJH students brought home 54 superior ratings and 21 excellent ratings while competing in theatre-based events with 15 other middle schools. FJH drama teachers Lana Garcia and Jane May are very proud of those who participated. Their next festival will be at Victory Lakes Intermediate on November 15.

FHS gets classroom surprise: Reliant scholarship
Senior Lindsey Reynolds received the Houston Texan Reliant Energy Scholarship for Champions award from Reliant Energy and was surprised by the announcement during English class at Friendswood High School. Reliant representative Christopher Gee and Texan Defensive Tackle Tim Bulman arrived at FHS with a huge check for $1,000 and made the announcement to Reynolds in her class. Reynolds was nominated as a junior by English teacher Kellye Nye. Reynolds' parents are Pat and Carolyn Reynolds of Friendswood.

FJH to present Icabod! Oct 30-31
Icabod! is an adaptation of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Craig Sodaro.
