Friendswood Mustang Youth Baseball Night
The Friendswood High School Mustang baseball team would like to invite all of the area kids to their "YOUTH BASEBALL NIGHT" that will be held on Friday, April 3 (game starts at 7 pm) at the FHS baseball field.  Every youth wearing a baseball jersey will be admitted free and will be able to run the bases and play catch with the Mustangs after the game. Little League teams who attend the game will be recognized.
Play at FJH to open April 2-3
FJH
Theatre Arts II students at FJH will be presenting their Spring play, "A Hill of Magic Beans", or Here's Looking at You, Jack" by Matt Casarino on April 2 and 3 during class.  The play is a children's comedy that re-tells the story of "Jack and the Beanstalk" through the narration of Larry--the old guy who sells Jack the magic beans.  The play is sure to delight audiences both young and old and is under the direction of Lana Garcia.

Round UpRound Up at Westwood April 18
  What saddle will you choose? This is the question Westwood Elementary Round Up committee members have been asking the community as they plan for their major fundraiser.
  Various levels of giving will provide what is needed to put on an event that offers family fun and activities from 11 am to 5 pm on the campus at 506 W. Edgewood (FM 2351).

FHS Lady Mustang Soccer Team advances to Regional Quarterfinals TONIGHT
  The girls soccer team won the sectional round of the playoffs Friday night by a score of 1-0 against Goose Creek Memorial.  Annalisa Hall scored the lone goal off an assist from Kristen Bowen.  The defense worked hard to hold Memorial to just one shot on the night.  Miriam Mooney recorded the shutout in goal.
  The girls advance to the regional quarterfinal round tonight, where they will take on the Foster Lady Falcons at Angleton High School's Wildcat Stadium at 6 pm.
Cline Elem to open new outdoor learning center
  A grand opening for the new Cline Elementary Outdoor Learning Center will take place Thursday, April 2 at 9 am at the Friendswood ISD campus.
  Five Cline teachers who are directly involved (K,1,2,3 and Special Ed) will be there for the opening ceremony.  They will sing a song, have a "ribbon cutting" and a photo op with a first planting.
  Five stations will follow and each class will rotate through - eventually the whole school. The five stations include the planting of a class plant, environmental art, Peppermint Bug trail, decomposition dig, and a lesson on tools/planting tomatoes.
  PTO member and Master Naturalist Rose Presley and Master Gardener Gordon Morgan will both be there.
  Cline representatives will be thanking all of the groups that made this possible: the Education Foundation, Budget Landscapers, Home Depot, Bradshaw Nurseries, Falcon Import Landscaping, and Boy Scout Troop 445.

3 compete at State Science Fair

  Three students represented FHS at this year's State Science Fair recently. 
  FHS student Ben Braun received first place in Computer Science. He was also the recipient of the Navy Award and a recipient of a scholarship to Champions Academy, a five-day summer camp at University of Texas, San Antonio.
  Daniel Rockey was the FHS recipient of the Navy Award in the category of Earth/Space Science.
  Vanessa Rivera, FHS student, advanced to State and competed in the Plant Science category.
  Junior High science student Jamie McCullough competed. State is the highest level of competition in which a junior high student can progress. She is the first student to advance that far in science fair competition for FJH.  She made additional history for her campus by placing fourth in the category of Environmental Science Analysis. .

Color GuardFHS, FJH Color Guards win awards
  The Friendswood High School Varsity Color Guard won the Scholastic A Division at the Texas Color Guard Circuit State Championships recently.
  With a score of 90.1, they had the highest score of the entire contest, which includes mostly 5A school districts. (FISD is a 4A district.)  This is the first time the FHS Varsity Color Guard has won this award.

UIL District Academic Results
  Friendswood ISD hosted the Conference 4A District 24 University Interscholastic League (UIL) Academic Spring Meet recently.
  The following are the results for Friendswood High School students at the meet:
· Accounting - McKenzie Klember received first place with Sarah Heintz in second and Karen Klumpyan in third. Lauren Gilbert placed sixth.
· Current Issues - Hunter Ivey was awarded first place with Lindsay Ricker in third place and Jeff Allison in fourth place.
· Computer Applications - Winston Wu received first place with Ben Braun in second and Noah Kessler in third place.
· In Computer Science category, Ben Braun earned first place, Adam Coleman second, Andrew Wiley in third and Chris Cotter in fifth place.

Chili's Fundraiser to benefit FHS Band 
  The Chili's restaurant on Nasa Road One and I 45 is once again offering to donate 10% of Tuesday receipts for band members and friends dining in or picking up 'to go' orders! Simply visit the restaurant or place an order to go on any Tuesday. On your way out, place your receipt in the jar marked 'FHS Band' by the hostess stand or the 'to go' register and Chili's will donate 10% of your total to the band. What a tasty way to help the band!! Tell your friends and family to support the band on Tuesdays by visiting the Chili's on Nasa Road One and I 45.
