Varsity Lacrosse nearly pulled off the upset of first place Clear Lake Monday night. In the previous two games the Mustangs handled Westside 12-1 and upset Katy-Taylor 13-9 to set up Monday night's game at Clear Lake.

The Falcons were competing for home field advantage throughout the playoffs and a first round bye.  Friendswood needed to sweep the last two games to make the playoffs.

The Mustangs closed the half tied 4-4 clearly surprising the high-scoring Falcons with a staunch defensive effort.  During the third and fourth quarters the Falcons slowly gained breathing room to eventually take the contest 10-7.

Leading scorers were Joe Kenney, Junior Attackman, with three goals; Logan Millsaps, Junior Midfielder, with two goals; Corey Page, Junior Attackman, with two goals; and Danny Modesett, Junior Midfielder, with one assist.

Friendswood is 9-7 overall (6-7 in district).

The Mustangs final game is Thursday at home vs second-place Stratford. JV plays at 6 pm and Varsity at 8 pm.

Head Coach is Steven Kirk.
