Students visited six different stations where they learned about the life of a blacksmith as well as musical instruments and styles. In addition, each child was able to create their own document on a printing press.
The students saw artifacts that were used for daily living and weapons that would have been used for hunting and in self-defense.
They also learned that in Colonial times, clothing was not as easy to come by as today. The students learned that it would have been their job to pick cotton and comb it so that their mother could spin it into clothing for them to wear. Each child was given the chance to comb a piece of cotton so that they could experience just a touch of Colonial life. |
