A Father/Son or Mother/Daughter white tail deer hunt on one of Bill Carter's ranches is being auctioned. Winners of this auction can enjoy a weekend guided hunt on either the famed Sombrerito Ranch near Laredo, Texas to hunt a South Texas Whitetail or the Apache Springs Ranch near Kerrville, Texas. They will hunt up to 130 class mature whitetail buck that may be upgraded to a larger class deer for a fee. The hunt will include, lodging, meals, cleaning and quartering of all game. Other activities, such as Bass Fishing, Javelina, Wild Hog and Coyote hunting are included once their buck has been harvested. Guided hunts usually begin on Friday afternoon and wind up on either Sunday or Monday at noon depending on guest schedules. This was donated by the Baggett family.
A second item for the auction is a 5-course wine luncheon for up to 12 people in one’s home or office including delicious food and a varied selection of nine handpicked and handcrafted wines donated by David Maggard, the Wine Man. During the meal, he will enlighten buyer and their friends with fascinating information about the taste and bouquets of the wines being paired with the courses. For the luncheon, David does require a helper for a nominal fee. Luncheon is also available as a dinner on Mon, Tues or Wed evening.

Another item for the auction is a Guided Fishing Trip - Catch the big one! Buyer and 5 of his/her friends will be lodging at beautiful Pole Benders Lodge in Seadrift, Texas where the fish are abundant and the stories are too! They will spend one full-day fishing on two guided boats with two nights lodging. Make Westwood proud with a grand catch for the day. This was donated by Jody and Carrie Adkins of Central Welding Supply.
A 7-day stay at a Canyon Lake waterview home donated by Brock Insurance Group (Mark and Stephanie Brock), a lacrosse game and personal clinic, three nights at The White House on Bolivar Peninsula/ Crystal Beach, $300 gift card to Bergamo's, Kemah Boardwalk vouchers, tropical plants, dinners and much, much more will be part of the silent and live auctions.
Games, raffles, food and much more will be available for family fun all at Westwood April 18. Money from the event will be used to purchase equipment and supplies on the campus wish list. These items are not part of the campus budget. |
