News: 8 German students place in National Exam
posted: February 5, 2009

Eight Friendswood High School German students have placed in the top 25 percent of German students nationwide on the German National Exam.

The Exam is similar to the SAT II exams and was taken this year by 26,000 students. The FHS students listed below had scores qualifying them for national recognition, similar to 760-800 on an SAT subject area test.

They will be honored in an awards ceremony in April. Randy Ham was in the 99th percentile and is eligible for expense-paid study trip to Germany. Also in the 90 percentile were Ashley Hoffmann with 97 and Sabrina Yates with 95.

Three students scored in the 80s percentile. These are Cullen Brown with 88, Garrett Steiger with 86 and Austin Beisert with 84 percent.

Lindsay Barckholtz was in the 78 percentile with Emily Townsend in 76th.
