News: FHS hosts science fair

This year's participation in the FHS Science Fair was entirely voluntary, and yet the event still had 44 projects in 11 categories. FHS Science Department had 27 expert judges from the community and area industry, such as Exxon and NASA that judged the entries.

In Behavioral Science category, Michelle Dupont received first place with Melodie Larsen second, Meagan Westhoven third and Christina Peck fourth place.

In the category of Biochemistry/Microbiology, Brian Burns was awarded first place.


In Botany, Elizabeth Conger and Vanessa Rivera tied for first place with Lacey Collins second and Jeremy Bass third place.

In Chemistry, Ashlee James was named first place with Matt Kibikas and Dan Rutledge tied for second, Kelsey Castro in third and Brittany Abraham in fourth place.

In the category of Computers, Ben Braun received first place and Joe Rogers second place.

In Earth Space Science, Robert Brown was named first place.

In Energy and Transportation, Elliott Landon received first place, Daniel Kriel and Sarah Faxel tied for second, Sheena Mohebalian third and Chandika Silva fourth place.

In Engineering, Madeline Landon and Daniel Rockey tied for first place with Amanda McKee in second and Jazmin Auzenne in third place.

In Environmental Science, Athena Metaxas placed first with Laura Bradley in second.

In Medicine/Health category, Brian Bordelon received first place with Samantha Genzer second, Allison Carlin third and Meghan Rutledge in fourth place.

In Physics, Brandon Goddard was named first place with Michael Rocey in second, Erin Brayley and Michael Gregory tied for third and Dino Georgeton and Veronica Heintz tied for fourth place.

In the Freshman Division Overall Biological Sciences, Christina Peck received first place and Jeremy Bass and Sheena Mohebalian tied for second place.

In Freshman Division Overall Physical Sciences, Madeline Landon was named first place with Brandon Goddard in second place.

In Senior Division Overall Biological Science, Elizabeth Conger received first with Vanessa Rivera in second.

In the Senior Division Overall Physical Science, Daniel Rockey was named first place with Ben Braun in second.
