News: BPA competes, places

Friendswood High School’s Business Professionals of America took eight contestants to a Regional competition held at Clear Brook High School on January 24. 

Victoria Stanley, Megan Carpenter and Karen Klumpyan will go on to the State competition held in Austin in March.

Victoria Stanley competed in Fundamental Spreadsheet and placed first. She advances to State.  Megan Carpenter competed in Keyboarding Production and placed second. She too advances to state. Karen Klumpyan competed in Advanced Accounting and placed third place. She will compete at state.

Alden Howard competed in Extemporaneous Speech and placed third. Marley Holt competed in Graphic Design and placed fourth. Collin Thurman competed in Database Applications and also placed fourth.

Austin Beisert competed in Fundamental Word Processing and placed sixth. Cheraz Spozio competed in Advanced Word Processing and placed sixth.

“A BIG thanks goes to FHS teacher Conny Moran for going with us and helping out during the competition. These students did a great job of representing FHS,” sponsor Lisa L. Sargent said.
