Prior to the performance, students from both campuses were on hand to give out information about the Six Pillars of Character; non-perishable items were collected in lieu of an admission fee so that the students and parents could give back to the church by restocking its pantry shelves.
Some 550-audience members enjoyed Lee's powerful message: "Life is a Gift!"
As a bonus, students who attended the night-time show got to meet a brand-new puppet in the likeness of the infamous ventriloquist himself.
With humor and enthusiasm, passion and love, Dennis Lee closed his entertaining show by sharing his elementary-school story, thanking the role models during his youth, and planting seeds of affirmation into participants that will likely bear amazing fruit for years to come.
After the show, Lee took time to sign autographs and visit with his little fans.
“We thank him for sharing his time and talents with us and we extend our appreciation to the Methodist Church for allowing us to unwrap his incredible gift in their beautiful building,” Westwood Elementary Counselor Barbara Gruener said. |
