News: FHS programmers bring home honors from tournament
posted: January 14, 2009

Awards were brought home for Friendswood High School programming students after competing recently at Jersey Village High School Programming Contest.

The Advanced Teams placed with Chris Cotter, Ben Braun and Andrew Wiley receiving first place and Billy Luell and Asher Johnson named third place.

“The first place team outscored second place Seven Lakes by 15 points!” Sponsor Annette Walter said. “The third place team did a remarkable job also with only two members instead of the usual three.”

Two novice teams placed. Noah Kessler, Joe Rogers, and Ben Watt received first place while Winston Wu, Matt Mitchell and Adam Coleman received second place.

“In spite of coming back from Christmas break, the kids "shook off" the "back to school blues" and competed well!” Walter said.
