News: Hot air balloon visits, teaches students in FISD
posted: May 18, 2009

The seven-story Re/Max hot air balloon visited Cline Elementary recently brought by realtor and Cline parents Kenneth and Dana Tuggle.

Students learned about the science of hot air balloons, how they work and how they inflate and deflate to be stored. Winds and other things that affect the balloon were also discussed.

Students were able to ask questions to the balloon’s aviation director, an FHS graduate Steve Lombardi.

Disney Radio joined the balloon visit to work with Re/Max in promoting a new movie involving air flight and balloons. Hula Hoop contests were held and tickets and gifts given out by Disney to the Cline students.

Color handouts regarding the science of hot air balloons were given to all students there.

The balloon also visited Westwood Elementary and Bales Intermediate but due to high winds that morning, it could not be completely inflated.
