News: FHS Cross Country wins

Girls and Boys Cross Country both won the District title at the recent meet in Centennial Park.

Girls placing included Maddy Murphy in third place, Yaneli Rubio in fourth place, Erin Hintz in sixth place, Cindy Tiu in seventh place and Beth Armstrong in eighth place.

CC Girls District 1Also running well for the varsity team was Mindy Tiu and Rachel Hertl.

Placing at the JV meet was and missing 1st place by two points was Kathy Olansen in third place, Megan Krail in fifth place, Allie Rubenak in seventh place and Ashley Wenzel in eighth place.

The Varsity Boys Cross Country Team won the District Meet at Centennial Park.

The following young men received medals: Brandon Swindler received first place, Matt Ellis received second place, James Gregory received fourth place, and Carl Ellis received ninth place.

Also running well for the Mustangs were Dustin Swindler, R.J. Lowery, and Ben Cuadra.

The JV also won first place. 

Receiving medals were Matt Craig in first place, Michael Goodwin in second place, Brian Bordelon in third place, Marshal Frieden in fourth place, Lucas Bevan in fifth place, Kirk Turner in sixth place, and Kevin Grethen in ninth place.

The Freshmen also captured a District title. 

The following young men received medals: Thanos Metaxas in third place, Chandika Silva in fourth place, Adam Beckman in sixth place, Shahin Firouzbakht in seventh place and Stephen Azbill in tenth place.
