Westwood Elementary Counselor Barbara Gruener and Westwood Principal Lynn Hobratschk attended a workshop with Kaye in Washington DC recently.
It was Gruener and Hobratschk that told Kaye about Windsong’s project.
Students in Autumn Bockart and Jermaine Sonnier’s classes put together a feed the homeless project after reading children’s book Maniac Magee.

“You have to be really creative in the younger grades to create service-learning projects that work and keep service learning alive in the schools,” Gruener said. “Congrats to Autumn and Jermaine for a job well done!”
