Not only is Westwood's Treble Makers Choir, under the direction of Laura Rachita, warming up for their Christmas Concert, they're also warming up some new friends down the road. "How's that?" you might ask. Through their recent Make A Note, Bring A Coat service project, that's how.

After a call went out from Friendswood High School for coats to share with families at Bay Elementary who were affected by Hurricane Ike, Westwood's choir director encouraged her little songsters to go through their closets and bring a coat that they no longer need. Choir students answered the call for help with a donation of 69 jackets and coats.
Pictured here are choir members from Shawn Wyble's class who bundled up in the coats before bundling them up to send to their new home. Couple their donation with the thirty coats from our Lost and Found collection, and our Westwood family was able to bring warmth to 99 children this holiday season. |
