News: 4 positions on ballot for FISD School Board
posted: October 8, 2008

A trustee election for Friendswood ISD is set for Tuesday, November 4, 2008 for the purpose of electing four trustees to fill four-year terms of office for Positions 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Only one of the four positions is contested. Incumbent Board member Rebecca Hillenburg and Friendswood resident Nancy Kessling are running for Position 3.

Running unopposed are incumbent Mike Shaw (Position 1), Matt Robinson (Position 2) and Tony Hopkins (Position 4).

The Special Election to replace Board member Ralph Hobratschk who resigned in July 2008 was cancelled at the October 14, 2008 School Board meeting since Robert McCabe was running to complete the two remaining years unopposed on the ballot. At the meeting, McCabe was announced the new member.

For Positions 1, 2, 3, and 4, early voting by personal appearance will begin October 20, 2008 and run through Friday, October 31, 2008. Voting will run from 8 am to 4 pm each week day except for Oct. 20 and 2, 2008 when the early voting will run from 8 am to 7 pm.  All early voting takes place in the Board Room at the Administration Building at 302 Laurel in Friendswood.

The early voting clerk’s mailing address is 302 Laurel in Friendswood.

On Election Day on November 4, 2008, voting will take place at City Hall from 7 am to 7 pm.
