At this time, there have been no reported
serious cases of MRSA staph among the the athletes at FHS. Every
year, we do have a few minor cases of MRSA among our athletes
and this year is no exception. All know cases of MRSA are either
currently under the care of a physician or are resolved. All
recommended precautions, including cleaning of locker rooms and
weight room, have been taken. All athletes have been informed
to take all articles of clothing home and to use good hygiene
practices, including hand washing. Please help us in our efforts
by reminding your son or daughter to bring all of their clothing
home from their locker room and to use good hygiene.

Hall
of Honor
- The Hall of Honor has been the dream
of athletic director Steve Van Meter for many years. It
is located in the Walter D. Wilson Field House where it will
continue to grow each year with additional members. The first
induction was on October 4, 2002. The wall is divided into three
categories: athletes, coaches and supporters. To recognize and
honor these individuals, FISD and FHS will induct the Hall of
Fame members during halftime events at the Varsity Mustang home
game.
FISD, FHS and the district athletic department
are excited about the Wall and the establishment of a tradition
of honor for athletics.
