Selim Nurudeen (FHS graduate 2001 and senior at Notre Dame) won the Big East indoor title in the 60 meter hurdles setting a new confernce record. He has won this event all 4 years (Freshman - Senior) and he also ran the 200 meters and was voted the Meets Most Oustanding Meet Performer for the 2nd year in a row.

Tanna Bennett, 1980 graduate of FHS, is an artist and has returned to the Friendswood area. Bennett recently had two watercolors selected out of hundreds turned in to be exhibited in the 2007  30th International Exhibition and juried show of the Watercolor Art Society of Houston. Out of the two pieces selected, Bennett's "Nesting" won first place. She received $2,500 for the first place prize. Bennett has owned a gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, studied art in France and recently worked and displayed in San Francisco.
