REGISTRATION
School Supplies
Supply lists are available from the individual teachers on the first day of school. It is suggested that students attending the high school take a pen or pencil and a small spiral notebook with them the first day of school.
IMMPORTANT DATES FOR 2010-2011 REGISTRATION

Please make note of the following important dates:
August 11, Link Crew Training (Seniors/Juniors) 9:00-12:00
Packet pickup - August 12 – Seniors 9:00am – 12:00pm; Juniors 12:00 – 4:00pm
August 13 – Sophomores 9:00am – 12:00pm; Freshmen 12:00 – 4:00pm

**On-line payment is available for the 2010-2011 registration. Print and bring receipt to pick up schedule on registration date.

August 16 - Senior Registration 9:00 - 4:00
August 17 - Junior Registration 9:00 - 4:00
August 18 - Fish Camp 9:00 - 12:00
August 18 - Sophomore Registration 9:00 - 4:00
August 19 - Freshman Registration 9:00 - 2:00; and 6:30 - 7:00
August 19 - Freshmen & New to the District Parent Orientation 7:00pm

*August 23 – First day of school will be a late arrival for incoming 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. All incoming 9th graders will report at the regularly scheduled time to participate in a program focusing on freshman transition to the high school. Look for a detailed schedule in the summer mailer and on the FHS website.  

Only freshmen or new students to FHS must have ID pictures taken during registration.
**Families with multiple FHS students may pay at the same time during registration (on-line or at school)**

(Includes incoming 9th graders from FJH)

August 12th & 13th  - PACKET PICKUP FOR ALL STUDENTS
  1. August 12 - Seniors 9:00am - 12:00pm; Juniors 12:00 - 4:00pm
    August 13 - Sophomores 9:00am - 12:00pm; Freshmen 12:00 - 4:00pm
  2. No money will be taken until the registration date.
REGISRTATION TIMESYou may continue to pickup registration folders during registration dates.  You may register multiple children in your family on any given date.
August 16th  – Seniors - 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

            Freshman /New students to district - These students will not receive schedule until after mandatory 7:00 pm meeting.  New students must have first registered in the Counseling Center. See website for more information concerning New Student Registration.

2010-2011 NEW-TO-DISTRICT STUDENT REGISTRATION
 Does not include incoming 9th gr. from FJH* or returning FHS students

DIFFERENT DATES.  LOOK OVER EACH SECTION  CAREFULLY AND CHOOSE THE DATES THAT BEST APPLY TO YOUR STUDENT.

1.  Early New-to-District Student Registration:  Only for students with established proof of residency and no special guardianship arrangements. We will not register students with pending residency or special guardianship arrangements until our August registration dates.

May 3-June 7: Pick up New-to-District Registration Folder and sign up for appointment in the FHS Counseling Center - 8:00 am-4:00 pm.

June 8: Early Registration day (by appointment only)--bring completed folder along with the required documents for your assigned appointment.  Appointment times are 9:00-11:00 am .

August  12-19: Early registered new-to-district students will need to return to complete their registration process along with returning students (details TBA)

2.  Regular New-to-District Student Registration:  For all new-to-district or withdrawn students with proof of residency and required paperwork/documents.

Aug. 2-9: Pick up New-to-District Registration Folder & sign up for registration appointment in the FHS Counseling Center - 8:00 am-4:00 pm.

Aug. 9,10,11: Regular New student Registration (by appt. only)--bring completed folder with therequired documents for your assigned appointment.  Appointment times are 9:00-11:00 am and 1:00-3:00 pm.

August  12-19: All registered new-to-district students will need to return to complete their registration process along with returning student s  (details TBA)
                                   
3.  Late New-to-District Student Registration:  For any new-to-district or withdrawn students not able to register during the Early or Regular Registration dates.

August 2-24: Pick up New-to-District Registration Folder & sign up for registration appointment in the FHS Counseling Center - 8:00 am-4:00 pm

August 23: First day of school--there will be no New-to-District student registration on this day.

August 24-26: New-to-District student registration (by appt. only)--bring completed folder with the required documents to the assigned appointment.  Appointment times are 9:00-11:00 am and 1:00-3:00 pm.                                   

RESIDENCY
Students must be residents of Friendswood ISD in order to attend FISD schools. Proof of residency must be provided to the campus registrar at the time of registration. Proof includes a current utility bill or lease agreement with name of parent / guardian and physical address. Any person who knowingly falsifies information on a form required for a student's enrollment in the District shall be liable to the District for full tuition if the student is not eligible for enrollment. Presenting a false document or record under Section 21.0313 of the Texas Education Code is an offense under Section 37.10, Penal Code. Students found to be residing outside of the District's boundaries will be immediately withdrawn from school.
ITEMS NEEDED FOR REGISTRATION
The following items are necessary for registration:
  1. Proof of residency (Closing documents, lease agreement [signature of the leasee and property owner], or utility bill)
  2. Previous report card
  3. Student's social security card
  4. Immunization records (MUST have at time of registration)
  5. Most recent grade transcript (if not on withdrawal form)

The State of Texas, Texas Board of Health and the local school board require the following immunizations:

DTP/DtaP/DT 5 doses / 4 doses
Fifth dose is not necessary if the fourth dose was given on or after the fourth birthday.
Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, a Tdap booster is required for entry into 7th grade.

POLIO 4 doses / 3 doses
Students must have four doses, one of which must have been given on or after the fourth birthday. Only 3 doses are required if the third dose was given on or after the fourthbirthday.

MMR 2 doses
The first dose must have been administered on or after the first birthday.

HEPATITIS B 3 doses

HEPATITIS A Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, 2 doses are required for entry into Kindergarten.

VARICELLA 1 dose given on or after the first birthday. Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, 2 doses are required for entry into Kindergarten and 7th grade.

MENINGOCOCCAL Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, one dose is required for entry into 7th grade.

**The day, month, and year of vaccine administration must be recorded on all new school records.
TB test is not required.
The above immunization requirements must be met BEFORE an F.H.S. STUDENT will be allowed to attend school.
 
TRANSFERS

FISD does not accept transfer students who do not reside within district boundaries unless the student becomes a non-resident during the course of the semester or during their 11th grade year. Families who have an executed contract to build or purchase a residence in FISD may attend on a tuition basis. Refer to FISD Board Policy FDA Local for more details.

Students transferring from another school MUST withdraw from that school before being enrolled at Friendswood High School. Documentation that must be provided to the registrar at FHS follows:

1. Proof of residence within FISD boundaries (current utility bill for water, electricity or gas; active lease or closing documents for new home ONLY)
2. Final report card and/or transcript from previous school
3. Withdrawal form from previous school (except during summer)
4. Current immunization record
5. Social Security card
6. Birth certificate
7. Parent or guardian's driver's license.

In addition, any students living apart from parents or families living with district residents must present properly notarized documents stating their intentions. Notarizable documents and Limited Powers of Attorney are available in the Counseling Center.

Due to high volumes of student entry and withdrawal at the beginning of each semester (August and January), an appointment to enroll is required. Please call 281-482-3413, X-211 for an appointment.
