A major goal of the District is to assist in the development of Studentswell-rounded, productive citizens with a broad range of interests, abilities, and experiences. Student performance is an important measure of a student's success. Friendswood schools consistently perform at the highest levels on state tests and nationally standardized tests. In the state's accountability rating system, Friendswood ISD has earned a Recognized rating.

Technology is an integral part of the curriculum with self-contained computer labs and at least one portable wireless lab. Friendswood High School are fully networked and each classroom has computers available for teaching, research, and communication.

Foreign language instruction in Spanish, French, Latin and German is offered, with advanced independent study available. The high school is also involved in cooperative projects with local colleges in applied technology.

Friendswood High School has high expectations for its students in both academics and extracurricular programs. Character Education is emphasized in all curriuculum at all levels.

FHS offers numerous extracurricular activities including drama and musical productions, choir, band, drill team, clubs and organizations. We also compete in academic contests including Academic Decathlon and Octathlon, speech, debate, and competitive sports governed by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). A comprehensive athletic program is available to students. There is an active parent organization that supports various school activities. Posted October 16: Looking for a left handed girl tutor for my daughter. She is in kindergarten and having some fine motor skills issues. I would like to have someone come to my house or after school or 8th period and work with her with her therapy putty and help her to properly grip a pen/crayon etc.  It would be like 30 min to an hour a day after school at my house.          2 children (ages 6 and 9).  Will need to get children ready for school and on the
