The first days of school have come and gone with nary a hitch in our giddy-up! I would like to extend a big thanks to our staff members for working so diligently to make the start of our school year a success.

• I need to clarify the PTO fundraiser tickets, since I miscommunicated that in my last e-mail to you. Students receive 10 tickets for every $25 donated, not 1 ticket for every $5 donated. Actually, that is a much better return for your money than I quoted initially. The money raised is targeted to replace the computers in our 7th grade computer lab. Last year's monies replaced the computers in our 8th grade lab.
• Mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 4th, our Open House. I am mailing a letter to you today. Also, your child will be receiving a letter on Friday, during their advisory class, so ask them about it this weekend. During Open House you will visit all 7 periods, plus advisory, so bring your running shoes!
• We will be observing the Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 3. No school that day - enjoy your 3-day weekend.
• A big thank you to our PTO Hospitality Committee for providing a back-to-school breakfast for our staff last Friday. The food was wonderful and greatly appreciated.
• Thank you to our parents who came to assist our 7th graders with their lockers. It is amazing how difficult those pesky combination locks can be for first time users.
