The all-school play, Much Ado About Nothing, will be showing Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evening, beginning at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. All students interested in a part were allowed to audition for the cast, which features approximately 35 of our FJH students, either onstage or behind-the-scenes.

Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students and may be purchased at the door the evening of the performance. A big thank-you goes out to Mrs. May and Mrs. Garcia for working with our kids to bring this amazing show to our stage!

1. Consider the maturity level of your child.
2. Your child should want to stay alone and be comfortable with the situation.
3. Establish house rules. Write them down, post them, and review them periodically.
4. Stress that parents should not be called to settle minor sibling disputes and disagreements.
5. Practice emergency procedures, including calling 9-1-1. Don't assume your child will know what to say in the event of an emergency, so practice different situations.
6. Be sure to discuss each day's schedule - including all transportation plans - so you won't worry if they are staying for tutorials, sports practice, etc.
7. If you have a change of plans and are not going to be home as scheduled, call your child so they won't worry about you.
8. Children invariable make mistakes; they don't always react in a situation as you wish they would. Give them lots of encouragement, support and reinforcement, and treat their mistakes as learning experiences instead of failures. Show them how much you appreciate their helpfulness, self-reliance and cooperation while you are away, and be liberal with appropriate rewards.
