We just received our 8th grade Reading TAKS scores from the state and I am pleased to report that 99% of our 8th graders passed the test and 77% received commended performance status. Wow!!

I would like to thank our 8th grade Language Arts staff and specialists, who provided tutorials sessions and worked tirelessly to prepare our students for the test. A big hats off to: Carol Collins, Janet Hartweck, Leah Howard, Kathy Jones, Janet Rychcik, Laura Sanders, and Michelle Simmons. We appreciate your hard work!!

Also, I want to thank our students for taking the test seriously, coming to tutorials regularly, and working hard to do their best. We are so proud of each of you!!

Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank you, the parents. Your support of what we do each and every day is phenomenal. You make our jobs so much easier!!

• 8th grade Parents - you will be receiving a copy of your child's score in the mail within the next week.

• April 8 - Math TAKS for 8th graders. Our 7th graders will be taking a practice math test that day in preparation for their test on April 29.
