Dear Parents,
I shared our 8th grade Reading TAKS scores with you about a month ago. Remember, they were 99% passing? Well we just received our 8th grade Math TAKS scores and I am very pleased to announce that we are at 97% passing, up from 94% last year! I am so proud of our kids for taking the test seriously and for working hard to prepare for the exam. Parents - thank you for bringing your kids to tutorials and supporting our work here at school. And last, but certainly not least, a big thank you to the following teachers for their hard work and diligence with our kids: Ms. Bateman, Ms. Grice, Ms. Marrow, Mr. McKeever, Ms. Peel, and Ms. Pollio (our tutorial group teacher). TAKS is once again upon us, thankfully for the last time this year! Please remember there will be no lunch deliveries from Tuesday through Friday, due to extensive testing. It takes all hands on deck to create and man all the different testing groups, which puts us short-handed in the front office. Also, check the schedule below to see when your child is testing. Please make sure they get a good night's sleep the evening before each exam, and that they eat a healthy breakfast.
Reminder - Internet Safety Week begins May 5. A parent night is scheduled for May 5, at the high school auditorium, and will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. I encourage you to attend and hear about the latest issues our kids are facing regarding technology and how you, as the parent, can take steps to ensure your child's safety.
Enjoy your week!! ![]() Go Mustangs
