Dear Parents,
CAREER TESTING
Our 8th grade students are completing online
career testing this week. This online
testing is a new process for us and I am
pleased to report that it is going great!
Parents - your children are receiving user
names and passwords to complete the tests.
Once completed, your child can access the
data from any computer, since the information
is web-based.
The testing is comprised of three components: interests, values, and skills inventories. The information is compiled and career paths are suggested. In fact, the program allows students to look at sample college majors, career paths, and even four-year high school plans that correspond to their survey results. It also offers a "reality check," where students choose lifestyle elements and determine what that lifestyle will cost in dollars and cents. Really cool!
CAREER DAY & HEALTH FAIR
FJH will be having its first annual Career
Day and Health Fair on Friday, May 9.
Volunteers will speak to approximately 25
students in 5 sessions starting at 8:55 a.m.
Each session will be 25 minutes and the
Career Day will end at 11:40 a.m.
Our Health Fair will begin at 1 p.m. and last until 3:45 p.m. If you are interested in sharing your career or participating in our Health Fair, please contact our 8th grade counselor, Jennifer Reed, at jmreed@fisdk12.net
As always, we are here for you! ![]() Go Mustangs
