On Monday, October 22, Friendswood Junior High will be celebrating the Month of the Young Adolescent with a Parent Swap Day. During 5th, 6th, and 7th periods, we are inviting you to attend classes in place of your child. You will get the opportunity to experience what your child's day is like at the junior high.

In order to accommodate the numbers in the classrooms, we are asking that only ONE parent OR grandparent attend the classes. In a class of 24, if both parents for each child attended, it would be impossible to seat everyone in the room! Fifth period begins at 1 pm. You will need to come and check into the front office between 12:45 pm and 1 pm. You will report to your child's 5th period class and at that time, your child will be released to go to the girls' gym for a presentation. If you are unable to attend, don't worry, your child will attend classes as scheduled and will have an opportunity to hear the presentation in the spring.

Your child will receive a letter explaining the details of the swap during their advisory class on Monday, October 15. We will also have a copy of the letter on the front page of our website that you can download and print if you do not receive your copy on Monday evening. Please RSVP using the second page of the letter so that we may plan accordingly.

* ITBS Testing for all 7th graders on Wednesday, October 17. These are timed achievement tests, so please be sure that your child arrives to school promptly for an 8:30 start of testing that day. Calculators (NOT graphing calculators) are permitted, but students must provide their own for testing
