• October is the Month of the Young Adolescent. As a way to celebrate, we are hosting our first ever FJH Parent Swap Day on Monday, October 22, from 1 pm until 3:45 pm. If you are able to attend, then you will "swap" the day with your child and attend their 5th, 6th, and 7th period classes while your child attends an assembly in the gym. We urge you to consider participating by walking a day in your child's shoes!

• On Monday, October 22, from noon until 8 pm there will be early bond voting at the junior high in room 1.

• Our PTO is now collecting box tops for education. We have a collection site in the front office, so start clipping those box tops! You can click on the website below for a complete listing of participating products: http://www.boxtops4education.com/AboutBoxTops/Products.aspx

• FJH has been chosen to administer the new state alternative to the TAKS test, TAKS-M, which is a different test than the SDAA our students used to take. For all students participating in the field test, Mrs. Sarafin sent a letter home last week explaining the details to you. If you received the letter and still have questions, please contact Mrs. Sarafin at lsarafin@fisdk12.net
